Trainer Pokémon cards will return in the upcoming TCG Scarlet & Violet expansion

The Pokémon Company has announced its next product Bright red and purple The Trading Card Game expansion, ‘Journey Together’, sees ‘Trainer’s Pokémon’ cards return.

This set was released on March 28, 2025includes over 180 cards with over 40 Trainer’s Pokémon in them. This includes characters like N’s old Zoroark, Iono’s old Bellibolt, Lillie’s old Clefairy, and Hop’s old Zacian, along with plenty of special illustrations to keep your eye on.

Trainer Pokémon cards have been around since the TCG, first cropping up 25 years ago in ‘Gym hero‘ set. They feature the Pokémon Trainer’s name at the top, with an additional Trainer image on the right side – you can get an idea of ​​the upcoming designs in the trailer above.

The upcoming expansion will be available in various forms including Booster pack and more bulky Elite trainer box – of course both are sold out on The Pokémon Center site.
