What’s up?
the Dreame L40 Ultra The robot vacuum and mop is on sale for $1,200 for a limited time.
Pet hair is one of my biggest gripes at home. I have a mixed breed dog that DNA testing has confirmed is a mixed breed dog (not a border collie as most people believe) made up of mostly high shedding breeds . This was interesting to check out how well the robot vacuum handled his pet hair, which easily gets into corners that the robot vacuum doesn’t always reach.
the Dreame L40 Ultra vacuuming and mopping robot is the latest solution to the pet hair pile in my home and I’m happy to say it’s been very successful.
The black and white color of the Sweet Luca means I have to vacuum every day to avoid seeing clumps of gray hair everywhere. The Dreame L40 Ultra expertly tackles even corners that other robot vacuums don’t reach with its side brushes and mopping pads that extend up to 20 mm.
This allows the L40 Ultra’s side brush to reach corners and wall edges and sweep them toward the robot’s nozzle.
I did a controlled test with the Dreame L40 Ultra before releasing it to clean my entire floor.

In my tests, the Dreame L40 Ultra captured 94.5% of debris, an excellent score that few models can beat. It sticks to its map about 85% of the time, which may be why it can maintain such high cleaning efficiency. Other models I tested had an average of 65% to 75% navigation, so 85% is pretty impressive.
The Dreame L40 Ultra successfully avoided obstacles like socks, my desk leg, and the charging cable. I realized that it was capable of cleaning thoroughly without tangling with cables, so I gave it the hardest job of all: daily office cleaning.

My home office is where I keep all kinds of review equipment, from portable power stations to smart home devices. It’s also where my dog sleeps, naps, eats, and drinks water. While different items are always coming in and out of my home office, there are two things that are constant: pet hair and chargers.
I’ve never been able to run the robot vacuum every day in my home office because the floor is always littered with charging cables, my dog’s chew toys, and random junk. Robot vacuums often get stuck on these items, so when running the vacuum daily in the living room, I create a virtual boundary to keep the vacuum out of my home office, then I vacuum and mop house manually.
The Dreame L40 Ultra vacuum and mop robot has been running on a daily schedule in my home office for over a month, keeping the 300-square-foot space clean and free of pet hair with little effort on my part. . This has helped my allergies a lot, as even the air purifier in the office runs less because the room has less pet hair and dust.

The L40 Ultra’s biggest letdown in my tests was pet waste. I got my hands on a highly visually accurate fake pet waste to test the obstacle avoidance feature of my robot vacuum cleaner.
Dreame L40 Ultra has AI-powered image recognition to identify obstacles such as paper, cables, socks, shoes, and pet waste. The robot scored 65% on my pet waste test, mainly because it constantly pushed prop pet waste around, which would be disastrous if it were real.
The Dreame L40 Ultra also vacuumed one of the props and destroyed it with a roller brush. The vacuum cleaner continues to run and completes its entire cleaning cycle, so can you imagine the shocking abstract painting you would find on the floor if this were actually a pile of human waste? pets.

That said, the 65% score isn’t too shabby compared to other models I tested, as the Dreame L40 Ultra tries its best to avoid wasting pets and even takes a photo of it for you to view in the app .
ZDNET Buying Tips
the Dreame L40 Ultra is one of the smartest robot vacuums and mops I’ve ever seen, but the brains will cost you quite a bit. At a retail price of $1,500 (or even a $1,150 deal), this is not a mid- or low-end robot vacuum but an investment in your home cleanliness and convenience. .
