Based on Hill, LawnStarter, a lawn care provider, has evaluated over 150 major U.S. cities. Their research focuses on pollution, living conditions, infrastructure and citizen satisfaction.

Despite these assertions, some Houstonians expressed greater satisfaction with the city’s cleanliness than residents in 33 other major cities.

Completing the top 5 list is Newark, New Jersey, secured second place. It dropped from the number one spot as dirtiest city.

The list goes on with San Bernardino at number three, next is Detroit, Michigan at number four, and JErsey City, New Jersey at number five.

Many cities in California, including Bakersfield, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Bernardino, were also identified as the dirtiest.
