The remakes were originally released on September 15, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. You can read our review about it This. However, the original version of the game first appeared in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube. The sequel came out a few years later in 2006, also for the GameCube.
The series is a joint effort between tri-Crescendo and Monolith Soft. Monolith Soft later continued to develop Xenoblade Chronicles series. Meanwhile, tri-Crescendo co-developed Story card game Zestiria. It also evolves Eternal love song And Digimon World Re:Digitized.
Baten Kaitos is an RPG series in which players take on the role of a guardian spirit who guides the protagonist and his party on an adventure across an aerial realm. Cards play an important part of the game. Not only are they the foundation for the combat system, but they’re also plot devices as well as how you manage your items.
Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster are available for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC.
