What are you playing this weekend? (July 6)
Jim Norman, Staff Writer
This past week I picked up a cute little indie track called Hell. I think there are some people out there who have played this game before but, somehow, I am not one of them. That said, it is actually pretty good. I have yet to get through my first run, but I hope to spend a few hours this weekend and make some progress.
Elsewhere, I finally finished The Last of Us Part II and I feel totally fine. Yeah, totally great. Even more elated. Totally unrelated to why I came back LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga to have some comfort in playing games since then. There is no correlation here.

As I’m sure most of you are, I plan to entertain myself with Nintendo’s big game release this week, Urban Champion.
Okay, I’m partly joking, but this week’s seven-game NES sale on NSO has a few less-than-stellar titles that I’d like to revisit. I’ve never spent any time with Urban Champion, but I want to approach it with my history hat on (as I do with many games in Atari 50 collection, for example). And Sunsoft was previously Japan-only. Mystery of Atlantis and Rare/Zippo titles Cobra Triangle And Solar Jetman worth charging my NES Joy-Con.
Besides, Fighting in tight spaces And Metroid Prime Remake is on the list. Have fun everyone.

This weekend I’m going to be OFF with my dad! But we’re also going on a four hour drive, so that means lots of great Switch time. I need to polish up Mario TTYD Paper — I’m on the last chapter — and then I’ll give it out. Everafter Falls one go. I also bought Super Mario RPG Gamebecause i’ve never actually played it (gasp).
During my time playing not on Switch, I played Dividedsequel of Secret. I finished Myst last week, and it was nice and relaxing; but Riven is huge and I got lost. Every path has a fork, and that means I have no idea where I am or what I’m doing at any given moment. I should take notes.

Schrödinger’s Portugal squad. At the time of writing, they’re still at Euro 2024, but they may have returned home by the time of publication. Regardless EA Sports FC 24 will be playing this weekend. My love for the source material means I will have to make time to play SPYxANYA: Operation Memory and gives an update on the upcoming release of Flynn Arcade Astryn DX a spin. However, all of this can just fly out the window if Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition landed early on my Switch. Keep watching the (virtual) blue sky…
Game of the week is NHL Hitz Pro on Gamecube. Build a new franchise and win a fifteen-game qualifying round to get into the NHL. Next up is the playoffs. There’s no way you can have a clean game on the road to retaining the Stanley Cup. You gotta shape up, boys!
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, but what about you? You can let us know what games you’ll be playing in the poll below and then comment to share what’s on your list.
