Hello! Welcome back to another edition of Brawl Box Art!

Before we dive into this week’s content, let’s take a look at how things went last time. We looked at DK: Swing King for the Game Boy Advance in a pretty tight contest. In the end, Europe took the trophy with 50% of the vote. North America got 30%, while Japan got 20%. Well done, Europe!

This week, to mark the addition of seven new NES titles to Nintendo Switch Online, we’re taking a look at Urban Champion. Released in 1984 in Japan and released worldwide in 1986, this was Nintendo’s first true fighting game. However, it was not very successful and most critics found it to be a bit bad. However, it did go on to spawn a Japanese successor called Joy Mech War.

Europe and Japan are pretty much in the same boat this week, so we’re looking at a classic. We know that people in the UK have probably voted enough to last a lifetime this week, but a little more wouldn’t hurt, right..?

Be sure to vote in the poll below; but first, let’s take a look at the case designs.

We suppose this week’s pick depends a little on whether you’re a fan of pixel art or not. Well, even if you are, we can’t claim that this is the best example we’ve ever seen. It’s your quintessential ‘black box’ release for the NES, but we appreciate the fact that its cover art is essentially a pixelated version of what you’d see elsewhere.

What we love about this image is the expression on the guy’s face when he punches; it’s almost like he doesn’t realize what he’s done. It’s a light-hearted comedy and the art style isn’t something you see often these days. Almost like something out of The Beano or The Dandy. We like it.

Thanks for voting! We’ll see you next time in another round of Box Art Brawl.
