Disney Cruise Line Reveals New Villain-Inspired Spaces and Characters Coming to Disney Destiny in 2025
A trip aboard the Disney Destiny will be a unique voyage in the growing Disney Cruise Line. Unlike the line’s current newest ship, Disney wishesWith a theme of enchantment with Cinderella-inspired beauty and light everywhere, Disney Destiny, which debuts in 2025, also has an appealing “dark” side.
As all good storytellers know, for a character to rise and become a hero, an opposing force must help them get there. The duality of good and evil, light and dark, hero and villain is present in almost every great Disney story… and in the studio’s upcoming new ship.
To that end, Disney Destiny welcomes not only the heroes of the stories, but also the villains who helped shape them. You’ll find darker, more complex characters throughout the ship, including some brand new spaces inspired by and dedicated to them.

Brand new villain themed lounge
When it sets sail next year, Disney Destiny will feature two brand-new lounges honoring some of our favorite villains you love to “hate”—and a “fun” bad guy-themed haunt you’ll also find on board. Disney Treasures when it weighs anchor in December 2024.
De Vil’s Piano Room
Brand new to Disney Cruise Line on Disney Destiny will be De Vil’s Piano Room, themed after the infamous Cruella de Vil in red, white, and black.

Sometimes, on a big ship, location is everything, and Disney shares that one side of the De Vil will open up to the Grand Hall, making it easy to pop in before or after doing almost anything else on the ship—like taking your kids to the Oceaneer Club.
Not only does this adults-only lounge feature Cruella’s signature colors (and spots), it also has the glamorous Hollywood regency style you’d expect from a place this villain once visited.
Inside the lounge, you can expect moody tunes (from a dappled piano!), trendy cocktails, wine, and martinis. After all, Cruella’s downfall was, at least in part, due to her pursuit of style, so you shouldn’t expect anything less from her lounge.
Barrels and Cannons
Yo ho, yo ho, here’s our new pirate themed pub!
In addition to the usual drinks, this Pirates of the Caribbean-themed pub will have an extensive rum menu, including some rare and vintage rums. The menu will also include beers developed specifically for the venue (and served straight from the barrel, of course), so you can enjoy something unique while watching sports and more on the pub’s TVs.
Haunted House Living Room
In keeping with the ship’s theme of dichotomy where both light and dark can exist in harmony, expect to see the return of the Haunted Mansion Parlor and its “happy haunt.” This spooky lounge will debut on Disney Treasure later this year and will then “reappear” on Disney Destiny in 2025.
This space replaces “Star Wars themed bar, Hyperspace LoungeOnly on Disney Wish.
This lounge offers the magic, humor, and style of the classic Haunted Mansion attraction at Disney parks but designed in the style of a first-class living room from the golden age of classic ocean liners.
Don’t be surprised if some of the classic characters from the Haunted Mansion attraction, along with some of their new seafaring friends, show up to hang out while you’re enjoying their spooky lounge and drinks.

New ways to interact with the villains on board
It’s not just about taking pictures and meeting Mickey and the beautiful princesses on Disney Destiny.
There will also be characters with more complicated pasts. Think Maleficent, Hades, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Oogie Boogie, Captain Jack Sparrow, Bruno, and even my personal favorite, Loki.
Cruisers will also have new ways to interact with these characters, such as at (interrupted) trivia events and even at dance parties in Oogie Boogie’s ship’s lair.
Villains find their way into the AquaMouse storyline
The 760-foot-long, on-board AquaMouse will be available on Disney Destiny, just like it was on Disney Wish and Disney Treasure. However, this time, it will feature a fourth new show featuring villains from the Disney Animation Archive and a soundtrack written specifically for Disney Cruise Line.
In the new story “Sing a Silly Song,” Mickey and Minnie will trek to the top of Villain Mountain, where you can meet famous characters like the Queen of Hearts (“Alice in Wonderland”), Scar (“The Lion King”), and Chernabog (“Fantasia”).
Last line
With five ships currently taking guests everywhere from the Mediterranean to Alaska and four more on the way, Disney Cruise Line is in the midst of a fast expansion mode. However, it’s not just a matter of hitting “copy-paste” when it comes to developing from ship to ship. Instead, the line has done a great job so far of giving each ship its own unique offerings and spaces, such as basing not only the heroes but also the villains on this upcoming new ship.
Stay tuned on Thursday as Disney announces more information about Disney Destiny and some ways to deliver a completely separate experience.
