Konami Reintroduces Suikoden 1’s Main Characters

Now then Suikoden I and II HD Remaster has a release date, Konami has updated official website to share profiles for the main characters in the first game. The five revealed include the first four to accompany the hero we can name, whose official name is Tir McDohl.

Konami’s first five character profiles don’t contain any spoilers. Suikoden 1. Each one provides a brief description of the character, their official character art, and a glimpse of their sprites as seen in the world and in battle. The first to be revealed is the hero Tir McDohl. His profile explains that he is the son of the Five Great Generals warrior Teo. He is training to become a true warrior, and the game begins with him, his best friend Ted, and his guardians Gremio, Pahn, and Cleo assisting him on a mission.

Gremio, Pahn, and Cleo are all portrayed as Teo’s servants, having been with the hero since he was a child. In Gremio’s case, this means he also acted as a teacher, while Pahn and Cleo more closely supported Teo McDohl. Meanwhile, Ted is simply portrayed as a survivor of the war.

While their weapon types aren’t mentioned in the profile, their character sprites show them. Tir uses a stick, Gremio wields an axe, and Pahn fights with his fists. All three would be in the front row in battle. Meanwhile, Cleo uses darts and Ted is an archer. So both are best in the back row.

Suikoden I and II HD Remaster will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch on March 6, 2025The original games appeared on PlayStation worldwide. They also appeared together in a collection on PSP in Japan.
