Harvest Moon: The Winds Of Anthos Releases ‘Great Outdoors’ DLC Next Month

Publisher and developer Natsume Inc. announced today that Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos will be given a new paid DLC October 3 called ‘The Great Outdoors Package’.

Marking the game’s one-year anniversary, the DLC adds treasure hunting, camping, two new characters, and the ability to bring your animals along on adventures. While resting wherever you set up camp, you’ll be able to whip up a meal to boost your stamina — apparently s’mores are good for you in the Harvest Moon universe.

Here’s a summary of the DLC’s key features and some screenshots from Natsume:

– Find treasures throughout Anthos, including Easter eggs that reference other Natsume titles!
– No need to go home at the end of the day; camp anywhere! You can even upgrade your tent to camp in style!
– Take your pets on camping trips! Each pet has its own unique abilities as you explore Anthos! Doc’s innovative new robot will provide food for your pets and animals while you’re away!
– Cook camping-themed foods like s’mores cookies around the campfire to boost your stamina.
– Two new characters—one for camping and one for treasure hunting!

The Great Outdoors Pack will be available on the Switch eShop next month for $9.99 (or equivalent in your region) or free for all Winds of Anthos Season Pass holders.

We had a great time with Winds of Anthos when it came out on Switch last year, calling it “Natsume’s best effort to date” despite a few technical hiccups (and a terrible title). Hopefully the DLC can keep the good times going.
