According to News 5 ClevelandMeuti was found dead off the Avenue at Warrensville Care & Rehabilitation Center around 7:30 a.m. Christmas Eve. According to Warrensville Heights police, the last time Meuti was seen by staff at the facility was at 8:40 p.m. on December 23.
The nurse who last saw Meuti told police the 84-year-old woman “appeared normal and was talking while sitting in her wheelchair.”
A second was then said to have been assigned to Meuti. However, at around 9:30 p.m., the nurse discovered that the 84-year-old woman was “not in the room.”
According to the source, the second nurse believed that Meuti had gone to visit her brother. However, the facility’s visitation log does not show any record of Meuti’s brother coming to pick her up. Furthermore, the second nurse allegedly failed to inform fellow staff members about the 84-year-old man’s absence.

Around 12:30, the nurse repeatedly accused Meuti’s brother. However, he did not answer.
“…she was a new nurse…and didn’t know what to do after that,” the police report claims, according to the police report. News 5 Cleveland.
Around 6:30 a.m., the nurse finally notified a fellow employee about Meuti’s disappearance. A “code purple” was then issued, a search was conducted around the building and police were notified. When an officer arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses discovered Meuti outside the facility “lying on his back.”
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, the 84-year-old man’s cause of death was listed as “Environmental exposure and hypothermia.” Police are said to be investigating Meuti’s death and why she left the facility despite needing assistance to walk.
