Air France and KLM award seats can be rebooked through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
Points and miles enthusiasts were left frustrated last month when a systems issue at Virgin Atlantic Flying Club cause Air France-KLM Fly Blue Partner reward flights to become Not available on Virgin Atlantic website. Thankfully, the bug appears to have been resolved as Flying Blue flights are back, meaning you can continue to use your Virgin points to book flights operated by Air France and KLM.
Here are some of the bonus tickets we found and how you can take advantage of them.
How and when to book Flying Blue awards with Virgin Atlantic points
We’re currently seeing a lot of flights operated by Air France and KLM that can be booked with Virgin points on the Flying Club website. For example, you can fly from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Munich Airport (MUC) in December to see Christmas Market with 16,000 Virgin points and $145.

Short haul flights within Europe are a great use of Virgin points.
A KLM flight from Belfast International Airport (BFS) to KLM’s hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) costs 5,625 miles and $63 if booked through Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue program — but you can book the same flight for just 4,000 points and £49 ($63) through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.
Business class is even better value at 8,000 points through Flying Club, compared to 15,000 miles through Flying Blue.
For a February flight from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), economy class tickets are cheaper when booked through Virgin’s Flying Club points, but business class tickets are cheaper when booked through Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue program.

If you have a lot of Virgin points, Flying Club rewards tickets are definitely worth considering, whether you want to fly with Virgin Atlantic or a partner airline like Air France or KLM.
