Allegiant Launches 8 New Routes in 13 Cities
Allegiant will add eight new nonstop routes to 13 different airports, the company announced Tuesday morning. Introductory fares on the new routes start at $39 one way.
The new flights begin in November, all to warm-weather destinations in Florida. No new cities are included in the update, instead Allegiant is adding more flights between cities it already serves.
“The addition of these new routes is a testament to the success of our existing service in these communities,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief revenue officer, said in a statement. “The new service launches just in time to plan those cozy winter getaways to sought-after coastal destinations.”

The big winner in Allegiant’s latest route announcement was Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) in Georgia, which landed three new nonstop flights to Florida. Flights to Punta Gorda began on November 14, while service to Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg began a day later.
Two other Florida airports have launched new routes, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in South Florida and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) along the Florida panhandle.
Allegiant’s expansion also includes boosting two small airports in the Northeast that have limited service on major airlines.
New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) near Newburgh, New York, has launched new service to Fort Lauderdale. The new route will give Allegiant five destinations from SWF. The airport, located about 70 miles north of Midtown Manhattan, has long been touted as a “rescue” airport for the greater New York City area.

However, the airport has fight to keep service from major carriers. SWF is currently served by only two airlines offering domestic service – Allegiant and Breeze – as well as two other smaller international airlines (low-cost carrier Iceland Play and Atlantic Airways, which offers Seasonal service to the remote Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic of Europe).
While Allegiant’s new flights to Fort Lauderdale won’t significantly change SWF’s flight path, the addition will certainly be welcomed by airport officials there.
In New Hampshire, Allegiant’s new service to Sarasota will be the fourth service from Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM). While Allegiant is currently the sole carrier, it will have a companion soon from Breeze Airways, which just announced a new service to Portsmouth last week.
The full list of Allegiant’s eight new routes is below. All are seasonal, with Allegiant typically starting with a two-flight-a-week schedule on most new routes.
