American Airlines status match: How Delta, United and Southwest elite members can sign up
If you hold elite status with Delta Air Lines, United Airlines or Southwest Airlines, American Airlines is offering to match your status for at least four months so you can earn status in another loyalty program without having to start from scratch.
Called the American Instant Status Card AAdvantage loyalty program Will fit the following programs:

This status match is available for free and possible Register online via the american contact page by selecting “Advantage Account Services” and then “Matching Status (other airlines)”.
You must submit a screenshot of your SkyMiles, MileagePlus or Rapid Rewards account along with your 2024 status progress and current status expiration date (check the submission page for exact requirements for each applicable status) .

How to Extend Your American Airlines Match Status
Once approved, American Airlines AAdvantage Instant Status Cards are awarded in three stages:

- Phase one: Successful SkyMiles, MileagePlus and Rapid Rewards elite members will receive their matching AAdvantage elite status to enjoy for four months.
- Phase two: When the right member has earned enough Loyalty points in phase one, their status will be extended by four months.
- Phase three: Once the matched member has earned enough Loyalty Points in phase two, their status will be maintained for a further four months, and if they subsequently earn additional Loyalty Points, the status will be extended further 12 months.
Members have elite status within American Airlines AAdvantage program can enjoy benefits like additional checked baggage, lounge access, and complimentary first class upgrades.
You must earn Loyalty Points every four months to extend your status for another four months. If you don’t earn enough Loyalty Points in the first four months, you’ll be dropped to a lower status level:
- 13,000 loyalty points: A Golden advantage
- 25,000 loyalty points: AAdvantage Platinum
- 42,000 loyalty points: AAdvantage Platinum Pro
- 67,000 loyalty points: AAdvantage Executive Platinum

If a matched member does not earn enough Loyalty Points to maintain their status for the next period but earns Loyalty Points for a lower status level, they will be awarded this lower status for the period next.
