Apex Legends turns back the clock to 2019 with Launch Royale, launching today – PlayStation.Blog

We have come so far and there is still so much ahead. Apex Legends From the Rift rewinds the clock with the new nostalgic LTM Launch Royale, taking you to the original World’s Edge, reinvigorating Lifeline to new limits and rekindling the first drop from part one. It all starts on November 5, 2024, including support for PlayStation 5 Pro when the console launches on November 7.

Let’s launch royale

Apex Legends turns back the clock to 2019 with Launch Royale, launching today

It’s 2019, Apex Legends has just launched, Kings Canyon is a wild frontier, and the battle royale genre has never been the same. This new LTM takes you right into that original experience, complete with everything original: weapons, Legends, abilities, rulesets, and maps. Conquer Royale Challenges to unlock Legends and earn rewards like Apex Packs and more.

Upgrade Evo’s armor and abilities? No, not here. This is just a blast from the past for those who were here on day one and a completely new experience for those who missed out. There’s never been a better time to jump in and see where Legends are born.

Lifeline is revived

“We are in this together. Remember that.”

Lifeline’s habit of getting caught up in chaotic events may have taken its toll on her, but she always has your back. It’s the Ajay Che you know and love, now fully revived, recharged, and ready to jump straight into the action with her fierce new gear:

  • Combat Glide: Hold Jump mid-air to use DOC to quickly glide for a short time and deploy DOC to revive teammates, leaving Lifeline free to defend.
  • DOC Heal Drone: DOC heals nearby allies. DOC can be assigned to follow allies after deployment.
  • DOC Halo: throw DOC to activate the Halo Shield System. All players inside use Health & Shield consumables faster.

Good support never surrenders to the sidelines. And this Lifeline? Not only is she saving lives, but she’s also fighting for the Championship Podium.

Cracked ruins

Formed from the unstable Rift in the sky, the Rift Ruins disrupt our reality to deliver enviable items from nowhere. Choose the EPG-1 Launcher with splash damage and rocket jumping ability, and unleash exotic Hop-Up moves like Lifesteal, which heals after each hit. If survival is more your game plan, then look for the new survival item: the Booster Kit.

Rift Relics will automatically appear throughout multiple rounds in each match. But please hurry. They are easily detected by allies and enemies. Whoever gets there first will receive a reward by destroying the Rift Ruins and announcing their presence to the surrounding area. After that, it’s all fun and games until the Ring begins—objects from the rift may be more stable than they appear.

Support class privileges

Our next class receives a series of perks. Legends in the Support class will now have their own duo of perks to choose from to enhance their areas of expertise: Heal Specialist and Revive Specialist. There are no bad options here – just follow your gut and heal it later.

Healing specialist

  • Moves at maximum walking speed while healing
  • The amount of healing from potions is doubled

Revival specialist

  • Revive 25% faster and restore health when revived successfully
  • Crafting banners and Allied Deathboxes now create Respawn Beacons on mobile (which Support Legendaries will be able to detect inside)

Legends support will maintain access to their expansion supply crates, but some updates will be made to their upgrades, and banner creation will now be accessible to all Legends.

New universal melee: Raptor’s Claws

Power up with the new Raptor Claw. This universal melee cosmetic can be used by any and all Legends to add a little flare while you take down enemies. Get the latest addition to your collection in the Void Mercenary Shop until January 7, 2025. Once you get this karambit-style weapon, you can unlock the Crystal Chamber Death Box, as well as five other deadly variants and their matching Death Boxes.

Play Apex Legends for free* now on PS5 and PS4, with support for PlayStation 5 Pro available when the console launches on November 7.

*Applicable platform account and platform subscription may be required (sold separately). A persistent internet connection and an EA account are required. Age restrictions apply. Includes in-game purchases.
