Apple discontinued 15 products: What’s gone and what deals are still for you?


AppleApple’s fall lineup has been nothing short of exciting, with a September event that featured multiple new product launches, followed by the iPad mini 7 release in mid-October. Part of a wave of new announcements hey, the company also decided to phase out some older products, making them no longer available for purchase on the Apple Store. While these devices are no longer available directly from Apple, third-party retailers still offer discounts on previous generation products.

Here are the main products that Apple has discontinued:

1. iPad mini 6

Apple launched the iPad mini 7 in October, introducing upgrades like Apple Intelligence, Apple Pencil Pro compatibility, and a fix for the jelly roll issue. With the new features, there’s little reason to pick up the older iPad mini 6, and there are no notable discounts on it. The iPad mini 7 costs $459.

2. Smooth woven iPhone case

Touted as an eco-friendly alternative to leather, Apple’s FineWoven iPhone cases failed to live up to expectations as they tended to scratch easily. These cases were stopped for iPhone 16 models, but the FineWoven MagSafe wallet and Apple Watch strap are still available. You can find some deals on FineWoven cases for the iPhone 15 online, like a $29 option for the iPhone 15 Plus.

3. MacBook Pro M3

Apple introduced new MacBook Pro M4 models with enhanced performance in late October, leading to the discontinuation of the MacBook Pro M3. Deals on the M3 model are still available, such as a $1299 deal on the base model at Best Buy.

4. Mac mini M2

With the Mac mini redesign in October, equipped with M4/M4 Pro chipsets and more RAM options, the previous Mac mini M2 model is now obsolete. While there are no outstanding deals on the M2 model, you can buy the M4 Mac mini for $579 on Amazon.

5. iMac M3

Apple has updated the iMac with the M4 chip, bringing better performance and additional features. As a result, the iMac M3 has been discontinued, although there are still some deals on the M3 model, with the M4 version currently priced at $1199 after rebates.

6. iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max

As usual with new iPhone releases, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 15 Pro models in favor of the iPhone 16 series. Refurbished models are available now, such as the 128GB iPhone 15 Pro for $725 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 GB for $864 on Amazon.

7. iPhone 13

Introduced in 2021, the iPhone 13 saw a price drop before being discontinued. Refurbished devices are still available, starting at $372 for an unlocked version in excellent condition.

8. Lightning magic accessory

Apple has converted the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard to USB-C, discontinuing the Lightning versions. You can find some discounts on older Lightning accessories, however, with a $20 off deal on the Magic Trackpad.

9. Apple Watch Series 9

The Apple Watch Series 9 was discontinued following the release of the slimmer Series 10. While deals are available on the Series 9, the Series 10 is a better option, starting at $329.

10. Lightning headphones

Apple has replaced the remaining AirPods models with Lightning ports, including AirPods 2, 3, and AirPods Max. AirPods 4, with noise cancellation, start at $119 and USB-C AirPods Pro 2 start at $189.

While these discontinued products are no longer offered by Apple, deals for previous generation models are still possible through third-party retailers.
