Ashanti & Nelly shock crowd at annual ball with ‘Baby’ remix

Ashanti And Nelly The light of their happiness shined brightly at his annual Black and White ball on Sunday! The couple is about a week apart first wedding anniversary on December 27. And let’s be clear, their love is still as young as the day Nelly crossed Verzuz’s live stage to hug her three years ago! To end the night, the couple surprised their prom guests with a remix of her song ‘Baby’.

Ashanti & Nelly Stand Out With Their Spicy Performance

The couple and their guests traveled to Nelly’s hometown, St. Louis, to attend a charity event. This year, the proceeds from the luxurious gathering will considered beneficial Make-A-Wish Foundation and Harris-Stowe State University Scholarship.

Just last month, Ashanti and Nelly went viral online their general performance during his 50th birthday celebration. Over the weekend, the couple appeared to have their holiday best. The new mother looked stunning in a sparkling gown with long sleeves and a high neckline. Meanwhile, Papa Nelly appeared in an all-black tuxedo and thin-rimmed glasses.

At one point on the mic, Ashanti started singing her iconic song ‘Baby’, but changed the words to say, “We made a baby, baby, baby, baby.” And Nelly joins with background vocals and ad-libs. They sang the lyrics back, even leaning their heads together at one point. They danced, laughed and looked happily in love!

The moment the ball AND the social media comment section rang out! On The Shade Room’s IG page, the clip received nearly 10,000 comments in less than 24 hours.

As usual, the event in the rapper’s hometown featured a number of iconic hip-hop artists, from Bow Wow to Jermaine Dupri and Ne-Yo. They all took the stage, but there were also celebrities in the audience, from hitmaker Bryan Michael-Cox to Metro Boomin. The producer is also an STL native.

Speaking of locals, at the annual ball, Nelly & The St. Lunatics has received the Key to the City of St. Louis. “Yeah, that’s right, it’s heavy too,” were Nelly’s first words after clutching the trophy.
