At least 10 people were killed, 35 injured when driver crashed truck into NYE crowd in New Orleans; The FBI investigated a possible act of terrorism
A driver intentionally crashed his truck into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Day in New Orleans and then opened fire, killed 10 people and injured more than 35 people, in an attack the FBI said it was investigating as an act of terrorism.
“He was determined to create the carnage and damage that he caused,” the city’s police commissioner, Anne Kirkpatrick, said in a televised news conference Wednesday morning.
CNN, ABC News and the Associated Press said the gunman was killed at the scene, citing unnamed officials.
