We have some good (and bad) news for anyone awaiting the arrival of Hatch Story on Nintendo Switch.

First, Atooi’s Jools Watsham revealed the development process Final completed in the latest Kickstarter update. However, there’s been another “last-minute delay,” due to a whirlwind of activity this month. The developer is now “on the verge” of submitting the game to Nintendo for “final approval,” so expect another update soon:

“Once Hatch Tales receives approval from Nintendo, we will update you with an official release date.”

Watsham admits Hatch Tales is actually due out next week August 23, 2024 and apologized for the most recent delay – mentioning that the team realized that “this last-minute delay may be frustrating” and thanked everyone for their patience.

If you’re curious to see how the game is progressing, a “developer deep dive” was shared back in June, showcasing the first six levels of Hatch Tales. In the latest update to backers, Jules also shared a “glimpse” of one of the “Chibi-Mudds” bonus level you will be able to unlock in Hatch Tales, inspired by Mutant Mudds.

You can learn more about Hatch Tales (which has now taken more than six years to implement.), Kickstarter project, as well as ongoing delays in our previous coverage here on Nintendo Life. As we mentioned before, this title (formerly known as ‘Workshop on chicken wobbling‘) was initially crowdfunded in early 2018 (with an initial expected delivery date of December 2018).
