Bandai Namco has launched Story series celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special Broadcast of the Anniversary Project. And while there were no surprises or special announcements, series producer Yusuke Tomizawa reiterated that the team will be working on more remasters.
in Original Japanese broadcast (reported by Gematsu), Tomizawa-san said he could not reveal specific plans but did say that Bandai Namco intends to “provide [remastered games] pretty consistent.”
The developers revealed the Anniversary Project shortly after the reveal Tales of Graces f Remasteredwas formed from a team dedicated to bringing older games in the series to modern systems. Graces f Remaster is the first game in that “series” and it launches in January 2025.
Tomizawa-san stated during the broadcast that yes, the development roadmap for Project Remastered has been established and the team is working hard. In fact, a website celebrating 30 years of English Currently active, tracking Japanese website was launched at the beginning of the year.
A separate English streamtitled 2024 Anniversary Story Celebration, doesn’t add much to the conversation, but Graces f producer Yuki Ishikawa did answer a fan question about remaking the 2D games in series, said that he did not think “the only right answer” to re-releasing or remastering a game is to convert it from 2D to 3D. While he enjoys that “kind of expression,” he also says that “there’s something wonderful about pixel art.” And we couldn’t agree more.
So no news on any new remakes or reboots, but they’re coming! Either way, we’ll almost certainly be here about them next year, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled. Additionally, Tales of Graces f Remastered is almost a month away as the game launches on January 17, 2025.
