BodyCam footage released
Florida Authorities released bodycam footage of the death of pilot Roger Fortson on Thursday, May 9.

Body Cam Footage: Roger Fortson
A 23-year-old boy was murdered deputy reportedly responded to a domestic violence call at Chez Elan Apartments in Fort Walton. A woman called the police department on May 3 to report that she heard arguing from an adjacent apartment.
Instead of going to the troubled couple’s apartment, the police officer went to Roger’s apartment. The special operations pilot was very cautious when he heard a knock on the door. So he took back his legally registered handgun.
Deputy said: “Sheriff’s office, open!”
Finally the twenty-something guy opened his front door. A gun appears to be next to Roger pointing at the ground. The police officer shot him several times and said, “Put the gun down! Put the gun down!”
After being shot repeatedly in the chest, Forston somehow said, “It’s over there!”
“I do not have it!” he shouted.
The senior pilot rolled aside. The officer then called for backup and EMS.
FaceTime call footage
Attorney Ben Crump said Roger had no idea it was the sheriff standing at his door.
“He’s a great guy.” he say. “They took away one of our patriots,” Crump added.
Additionally, Crump revealed Fortson was using FaceTime with his girlfriend at the time of the incident. He released footage of the incoming recorded call EVERYBODY. The camera focuses on the ceiling fan in Roger’s apartment.
The military officer groaned as he said: “I can not breathe!”
The officer shouted “Do not move! Don’t move anymore!”
Fortson died from his injuries at the hospital.
The unidentified officer is currently on administrative leave pending an investigation.
