Bounty Hunter, launching on PS5 on August 1 – PlayStation.Blog

On August 1, the hunt begins; Star Wars: Bounty Hunter releases on PS5 and PS4. Let’s find out what to expect, including unique PlayStation 5 features, visual enhancements and the ability to play as another iconic bounty hunter…

For those unfamiliar, you play as Jango Fett in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The galaxy’s bravest bounty hunter is hired to capture the deranged Dark Jedi. Jango gets the bounty equipped with a series of deadly weapons and tools, including dual blasters, flamethrowers, toxic darts, jetpack missiles, etc. Prepare and hunt down your quarry, destroy the residue Galactic residue along the way.

Visual improvements

Improved environment textures: To add more depth and texture to the environment, we added bump mapping. The result is a richer and slightly more modern environment.

New lighting effects: With dynamic lighting, we now see more colors and effects throughout the environment. Every bolt from Jango’s blaster will glow at full speed.

New flashlight device: If you thought some areas felt dark, so did we. We’ve added a flashlight to navigate these darker areas.

Features of PlayStation 5

Exclusively for players on PS5, we’ve taken full advantage of DualSense wireless controller technology to enhance your bounty hunter experience. Let’s take a look.

Built-in adaptive trigger: Each weapon in Jango’s arsenal now has its own rhythmic feel.

Voice communication: We routed Jango’s in-game radio communication to play through the DualSense wireless controller’s speakers for a completely new immersive experience.

Light bar meets health bar: Use the light bar display on your controller as a visual indicator of Jango’s current health status.

Restore Boba Fett

The most diehard fans of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter may have heard of an Easter egg left in the game. A very low-resolution texture with a message written in Aurebesh— “Cash in all bonuses to play as Boba.”

Even though messaging already exists, this feature does not. So even if you get 100% in your save file, you can only play as Jango Fett.

We’ve brought this Easter egg to life, so once you complete the campaign you’ll be able to equip the new Boba Fett skin for your next playthrough.

We hope you enjoy revisiting Jango’s origin story! We’ll see you on August 1 on PS5 and PS4.
