Here’s What Brian McKnight Shares About His Fatherhood Contents

McKnight first episode release of his ‘Fatherhood Fridays’ series on Instagram on Friday, September 6. He started the video by saying that he was supposed to have a guest. However, he said that his guest, Rick, wasn’t “man enough to talk about fatherhood.” It’s unclear who Rick actually is.

“Fatherhood Friday is about when you do things right, with God on your side, with the person who was created for you, the happiness and joy that you feel is greater than anything you could imagine,” Brian said before flashing a photo of himself with Leilani, their son, and his two stepchildren, Julia and Jack.

McKnight added that over the 10 years of his relationship with Leilani, he became a father to Jack and Julia with the approval of their biological father. “What is a part of her is a part of me. I have my own father-daughter and father-son relationships with them, and as their father, I have the privilege of loving them, shaping them, guiding them, and nurturing them alongside their mother. And bringing them to adulthood, frankly, has been one of the greatest joys of my life.” Additionally, as Brian McKnight speaks in the video, photos and clips of him with Jack and Julia also appear one after another.

Furthermore, Brian recalled his stepchildren’s response when he asked why they respected and loved him so much. Both said, “Because you are our dad, and all we want to do is make you proud.”

Brian said that being a “proud father” cannot express how he feels, and he explained that his youngest son is the one who binds their family together by “blood.” He continued to share photos and videos of himself, Leilani, and their new family. Ultimately, Brian McKnight said that he would be proud of Jack and Julia regardless of their accomplishments because they are both children of the woman he loves so much.

“They gave me the gift of true fatherhood,” McKnight said. “They are mine; I am theirs. What we have is symbiotic. They nurture me as much as I nurture them. You see, there is a big difference when a man becomes a father out of choice and desire and not out of obligation and that is what Fatherhood Fridays is all about, the joy of fatherhood.”
