Here’s what Candace Owens said after Donald Trump’s guilty verdict
EQUAL Shade room previously reported, the former president was convicted on 34 counts in New York on Thursday, May 30. Trump allegedly paid Stormy Daniels, an adult entertainer, $130,000 “to promote boost his electoral prospects in the 2016 presidential election,” per ABC News.
On Thursday, Owens arrived X, formerly known as Twitter, to share its thoughts following Trump’s guilty verdict. Noteworthy, Vanity fair reports that Owens has previously voiced support for Trump.
In response to his guilty verdict, Owens appeared to refer to the country as a “banana republic.”
“We live in a banana republic,” she wrote. “It’s time to accept that.”
Additionally, she explained that “nothing” in the country is “legal.” Ultimately, Owens asserted that Trump’s guilty verdict did not “embarrass him,” but it “embarrasses our country.”
“Nothing is legal — not the media, not our elections or the courts,” she added. “This guilty verdict doesn’t embarrass Trump, it embarrasses our country.”
Social media has weight
Owens’ words caused a reaction within Dark Room commentary.
Instagram user @imweaakk wrote, “He was convicted by a jury of his peers and not a Judge…pack it back Candace”
While Instagram user @professor_wynn added: “She REALLY should be like that 🤫! Like frfr! It’s FAIR! His lawyers helped select the jury! He has the BEST lawyers money can buy! It wasn’t cheating, he was just GUILTY! THE PATIENT WITNESS is the one who solved the case! WTF! Goodbye girl 👋🏽! There are several seats!
Instagram user @stacy_beee wrote, “A jury of 12 of his peers found him guilty. How crazy is it that when things don’t go well for the privileged, they immediately try to attack our democracy and try to delegitimize the rule of law. But when real injustices happen to Black and Brown people, they stay silent.”
While Instagram user @r0832t added, “Mom, you can move to Australia any time you want.”
Instagram user @fightergallant wrote, “Imagine committing a crime and being found guilty.”
While Instagram user @rexa_million added: “The funniest thing is that Lmao was the jury that convicted him who his lawyer chose. You cannot do this.
Chance The Rapper wrote, “Ion lives in the FUCKING BANANA REPUBLIC”
Furthermore, Owens’ criticism also caused mixed reactions in her comments section X.
Change is necessary and rapid.

A proud moment for our country indeed. Sorry your guy lost but the rule of law is more important. Too bad you don’t believe that.
