Chase reveals opening details for 2 new lounges, more updates
Chase’s airport lounge portfolio continues to grow with the opening of two new facilities.
The publisher announced on Tuesday that The Club’s newest Sapphire Lounge is now open. As of November 12, the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) location is welcoming visitors.
The next open location, at San Diego International Airport (SAN), will open on Friday, December 6.
Furthermore, Chase also shared an updated timeline on when the other three upcoming domestic lounges will open. It includes:
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL): Terminal D/E Connector — opening early 2025
- Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS): Terminal 1 Gate C – opening mid-2025
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Tom Bradley International Terminal — opening TBD

Chase’s new Phoenix outpost is located in Terminal 4 South Concourse 1 near the Southwest Airlines and American Airlines gates. The San Diego location will open in Terminal 2 West.
The publisher isn’t hosting pre-opening tours in Phoenix, but it did tease some of the top amenities travelers can find in this new lounge, including panoramic views of the street ice from large windows, a top bar, and an indoor “terrace” space in the airport’s waiting area.
The lounge’s food offerings are served from a retrofitted Airstream food truck that is being served by popular Phoenix restaurant The Larder & The Delta. Coffee will be served from Arizona-based Press Coffee, while wines will be selected from Parcelle.

Note that this lounge measures just over 3,500 square feet, making it one of the smallest lounges in the entire portfolio. At this size, I would expect the Phoenix lounge to operate on a waitlist throughout the day. (It will be open from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.)
Meanwhile, the San Diego outpost will be just over 10,000 square feet and feature a wellness area with private resting areas, facial treatments from Face Haus and digital meditation from Devi Brown. There will also be a la carte dining options from San Diego’s Oscar’s Mexican Seafood and coffee from California’s Groundwork Coffee.
In terms of design, Chase says the new outpost was built to reflect the locale. With surfboards designed by a local muralist and a large digital wall displaying drone footage of the San Diego coastline, this lounge is ready to be stylish Southern California is unmistakable.

The San Diego location will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
In addition to the airport lounges, Chase said it will launch a limited-time temporary lounge in Las Vegas on Saturday, November 16. The lounge, located at the Aria Resort & Casino, will serve Food service from Momofuku and cocktails from Apotheke. Note that this popup will be limited to Reserve Chase Sapphire® card holder.
“When we opened our first domestic lounge, we were clear that expanding our reach and enhancing the in-travel experience for our Sapphire Reserve cardholders was a top priority. Opening our locations in Phoenix and San Diego, in addition to expanded lounge access at locations where customers Our living and traveling, continues fulfill our goal of delivering this much-anticipated benefit.”
All of these new lounges join the issuer’s existing facilities at six airports worldwide:
However, there is some bad news. Chase’s Rooftop at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will close early next year. When this space opened, the publisher shared that it would be temporary (but did not share how long it would be open). As it turns out, the airport authority wants to repurpose the space for public use, so Chase will be forced to leave next year.
In an exclusive statement to TPG confirming the move, Chase said that “we are excited to bring our Chase Sapphire Terrace experience to life at Austin Bergstrom. As this has always been a temporary activation, the space will close in March 2025. We look forward to wishing our cardholders continued enjoyment of this space during the upcoming holiday season before the planned closure.”
