Check your account: New perks, elite night credits and more will be posted for 2025
It’s hard to see most of my elite status levels reset to zero on January 1. It’s a tough reminder that if you want to maintain your status next year, you’ll need to must return to the hamster wheel.
Some of us at TPG have decided that juice is no longer worth squeezing. superior elite status or even decided Don’t pursue status not at all.
But for those of us who are truly addicted to top status (like me), we need to start the game again.
Plus, there are some bright spots: Transfer credits, miles or free nights from credit cards thanks to some of our favorite programs like World of Hyatt already here. Additionally, some plans have new perks or new benefit options.
We’ve seen conversions and credits – incl Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt stay credit – credited to our account.
Consider this an annual reminder to check your accounts and plan your status goals for 2025.
Delta SkyMiles
It’s a whole new world for Delta Air Lines elite members. The airline made headlines in 2023 when it did a lot of changes into its program. While Delta has since coming back some of the most draconian steps, what hasn’t changed is the end of the Medallion Qualification Mile as a measure of elite status.
Now it’s all about Medal Qualifying Dollars, as you can see in the tracker in my SkyMiles account:
The ability to select your Delta Choice Benefit is currently unavailable (at least not in my account). I’m sure that people (like me) who had enough of MQM last year will convert their 2024 status won’t see the options until after February 1.

However, there will be a series of new options in addition to the previous options such as certificate upgrade and bonus SkyMiles.
If you qualify for Platinum or Diamond Medallion status in the 2025 Medal year (based on qualifying activity during the 2024 calendar year), you have until January 31, 2026 to elect Benefits Delta’s annual Choice. Note that you must elect your 2024 benefit before the end of January.
According to Delta, you’ll soon be able to make your choices in the app instead of having to log in on your desktop: “Starting February 1, 2025, enjoy a more seamless experience by choosing Your Choice benefits through the Fly Delta app.”
We expect the MQD gain from holding one of the following Delta credit cards to be achieved in February:
For every card you hold, you will receive 2,500 MQD at the beginning of each year just for being a card member. These stacks are for travelers with multiple qualifying cards. That means if you have two of those cards, for example, you’ll have a head start of MQD 5,000 for the year.

World of Hyatt
Qualifying nights provided by World of Hyatt have been posted to my account. I actually received an email about the free nights, so look for that email in your email account if you don’t see those reflected in your tracker yet.

Hyatt qualifying night confirmation email from credit card. HYATT WORLD
However, some TPG employees have not yet received them for 2025.
Don’t worry if yours hasn’t appeared yet. Traditionally, they all arrive in the same week.
You have five nights a year to work towards World of Hyatt status is just to keep Hyatt World Credit Card. Plus, you can earn two extra nights for every $5,000 you spend on the card.
Hyatt also has it World of Hyatt corporate credit card; Sadly, you don’t get any elite qualifying nights just for holding this pass. But you can earn five qualifying night credits for every $10,000 you spend each calendar year on the card.
By taking advantage of one (or both) of these cards, you could conceivably gain status — or combine your spending with frequent stays to boost your status in 2025.

Hyatt has also implemented some new features. Now you’ll have more options at more stops on your journey to elite status. Hyatt Milestone rewards begin after 20 qualifying nights or 35,000 base points earned in a calendar year. You’ll earn Essential Rewards for up to 150 qualifying nights per year.
World of Hyatt also ended the unlimited Guest of Honor benefit for Globalist elite members. Instead, you can now earn Guest of Honor awards through Hyatt’s Essential Rewards program.
Among the options you get are 2,000 World of Hyatt points on stays at select brands, club access awards, and credits for Hyatt Find experiences. There are new benefits for 2025. Starting at 20 nights, you can now choose two coupons for preferred seating on American Airlines.

There are five other bonuses in my account for 2025, expiring on February 28, 2026. My new suite upgrade bonus is also already in my account with the same expiration date.
Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott Bonvoy fans have seen elite night credits credited to their accounts. These bonus nights come from having a Marriott credit card that automatically rewards you with 15 to 25 elite night credits each year. In my case, I keep Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, comes with automatic Platinum status and a head start 25 nights a year.
You can only get elite nights from an individual card, even if you have multiple cards. However, if you open a business and personal card, you can get up to 40 elite nights, which is nearly enough for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status (50 nights).

My colleague Nick Ewen is one of those lucky Bonvoy members. He has been sitting there for 40 nights.
This could give a big boost to achieving Bonvoy elite status.
You’ll find this elite night benefit is a benefit of several cards, including Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card ($95 annual fee) and Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card ($125 annual fee; see exchange rates and fees).
