Aeroplan typically sells points for about 2.58 cents each. Some members will see an 85% bonus advertised when purchasing Aeroplan points. However, some TPG employees received a 100% bonus increase after logging into their accounts. With the 100% bonus, the cost per point drops to approximately 1.22 cents per point, significantly lower than the December 2024 TPG level Aeroplan points pricing (1.5 cents per point). Therefore, this sale could save you money if you have a specific repurchase in mind.

Air Canada Aeroplan is giving members up to a 100% bonus when you purchase points

Aeroplan members can purchase or gift up to 500,000 Aeroplan points per transaction. Remember that there is an annual purchase limit of 1 million points plus an annual limit of 500,000 points for gifting points. Members who see the enhanced 100% bonus offer in their accounts must purchase at least 80,000 points to receive the 100% bonus, which will cost C$2,800 (about $1,954 USD) for 160,000 points, including bonus.

TPG generally does not recommend it point of purchase unless you want to fund your account or have a specific redemption in mind. This is because the cost is usually greater than our valuation — but with this sale, you can buy points for less than our valuation. So this sale can help you save money, especially on high-priced business class award tickets.

This can be a great way to score discounted Star Alliance flights, including round-trip business class awards from the US to Europe for as low as $1,464 before taxes and fees.

You only need 60,000 Aeroplan points each way to fly business class from the East Coast to most of Western Europe. For example, you can fly daily on Singapore Airlines fifth path of freedom between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA).

You will still have to pay airport fees and government taxes in addition to your conversion amount. In the Singapore Airlines example above, those fees and taxes would cost CA$327.50 (about $228), although some European airlines like Swiss will have even lower fees and taxes.

If you buy a round-trip business class ticket for the same flight, you’ll pay nearly $4,000. Therefore, you can save yourself over $2,000 by purchasing points with this bonus.

If you only get the 85% bonus, you can still buy points as low as 1.32 cents each when purchasing at least 40,000 points before the bonus is applied, which is still a solid deal and well below the norm. Our price is 1.5 cents per point.
