Deal alert: Fly direct to Hawaii for $190 round-trip


When it comes to dream destinations, Hawaii will most likely be at the top of most people’s lists. Whether you’re a solo traveler looking for an outdoor adventure, a newlywed planning a honeymoon, or a parent looking for a great family vacation, the Islands Hawaii is a dream destination. Paradise doesn’t come cheap, but you can save serious money on your Hawaii vacation right now thanks to a new ticket discount program.

Fares to the Big Island, Oahu, Kauai and Maui from cities such as Atlanta, Denver, New York City and Seattle are discounted. We found several routes with round-trip fares under $200. Most of these itineraries include transit stops, but there are a few non-stop stops beyond Seattle listed below.

The best available period during this sale is August to November 2024. Some routes have discounted tickets from July 2024 to March 2025. These are economy class fares on partners Oneworld’s airlines are Alaska Airlines and American Airlines, along with Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines and United Airlines. You get a free carry-on bag on all of these airlines except United. Checked baggage will cost around $35 to $40 each way.

Some of the lowest fares highlighted in this deal come from booking through one online travel agency.

Let’s start with some good discounts for Oahu. In September, United Airlines offers nonstop fares from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu for just $256 round-trip.

Alaska Airlines has tickets from Denver International Airport (DEN) to HNL in the fall starting at $350 roundtrip – a significant discount from the regular price.

You can also fly nonstop on Alaska Airlines from SEA to Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole (KOA) on the Big Island for just $190 roundtrip. That’s a really good price for this route. Again, this is a September cruise, so if you can travel during that month, you’ll have the best chance of getting a great deal.

Hawaiian Airlines also has direct flights from SEA to Kahului Airport (OGG) on Maui for just $257 round-trip.

If you live on the East Coast, you have some good flight options to the Big Island.

In September, you can book a ticket to Alaska from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to KOA for $350 round-trip.

Hawaiian Airlines also offers round-trip fares from New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to KOA in September. Fares start at $351.

You can also fly from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to KOA in the fall, via Alaska Airlines for $350 round trip.

There are lots of great deals for Hawaii this year and some of the best prices for travel in September.

As TPG reported, Maui is open for business after last year’s devastating forest fire. The island wants visitors to return. Remember to respect your surroundings. The historic town of Lahaina was heavily damaged in the fire and is still being rebuilt. It’s best to avoid that area until further notice.
