Diddy became a ghost on Instagram

On Thursday (June 20), Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared to delete all content from his Instagram account. The account, which is still followed by nearly 20 million people, now shows an empty profile feed.

The move comes a month after he uploaded one apology video on the social media platform after CNN released it Police supervision shows him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in 2016.

As The Shade Room previously reported, the Bad Boy Records founder reacted to the leaked video and expressed outrage at his behavior through an Instagram Reel on May 19.

“It’s hard to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you have to do it. I was fucked. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video was inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted doing it then, now I’m disgusted. I went and sought professional help. I had to go to therapy, go to rehab. I had to ask God for His mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I commit to becoming a better man every day. I don’t ask for forgiveness. I so sorry,” Diddy said in the video.

Details of the tycoon’s allegations

Diddy’s Instagram hiatus comes amid his ongoing scandals, including law enforcement raids on his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March as a part of the federal sex trafficking investigation.

According to The Shade Room, in November 2023, Cassie accused Diddy of rape, sexual assault, etc. in a comprehensive lawsuit. They settled for an undisclosed amount the next day. However, Diddy did not admit any wrongdoing.

On May 23, Cassie finally spoke out about the viral assault video and Diddy’s controversial apology. She began by expressing gratitude to her “family, friends and strangers for their continued love and support.”

“The outpouring of love created a place for my younger self to settle down and feel safe, but this was just the beginning. Domestic violence is a problem. It made me into someone I never thought I would be. With a lot of effort, I am better today, but I will always bounce back from my past.”

Combs returns the keys to NYC

Diddy’s Instagram purge comes a week after he returned the Keys to New York City.

According to a new report by TMZ, the board of selectmen voted to recall Key and Combs complied with their request. The decision was made after New York City Mayor Eric Adams commented on the 2016 video of Diddy assaulting Cassie.

“I think we were all extremely disturbed when we saw the chilling video of the young girl being assaulted by him,” he said.

In a live interview with PIX11Adams clarified that this was the first time an honoree’s keys had been destroyed.

TMZ reports that Diddy was briefed on Key at his Los Angeles and New York offices. A source told the news outlet that New York City sent the letter on June 4 and the media mogul responded by returning the Keys on June 10. The letters, signed by the Mayor Adams, which is said to contain instructions on how to return the Key.

Furthermore, the letters said that the Keys to the City of New York committee had “recommended, invalidated and revoked” Diddy’s honor, a recommendation that Mayor Adams later endorsed.

“Like many people, I was deeply disturbed by recent footage of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting his then-partner. I strongly condemn these actions and express solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. Our city has worked tirelessly to ensure that survivors are heard and seen by our government,” Adams wrote.
