Trump Skips Second Debate With Vice President Harris

On Saturday (September 21), Donald Trump addressed the crowd at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina. He expressed his interest in debating Vice President Kamala Harris again but said he believed it was simply “too late.”

Donnie continues to dismiss the idea, arguing that voters have left and want to move forward.

“It’s too late. The voting is over. The voters are out there!” Trump said in a clip obtained by TSR.

Trump then asked the crowd, “Have you voted yet?” and urged them, “Get out and vote.”

Vice President Harris agrees to face Trump in second debate

Donald Trump’s latest remarks come after Vice President Harris’ campaign accepted an invitation to participate in a second debate with him.

Vice President Harris addressed the idea in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) of CNN host Kaitlan Collins.

“I am pleased to accept the second presidential debate on October 23. I hope @realDonaldTrump will join me,” Vice President Harris wrote.

NBC News Harris campaign chairwoman Jennifer O’Malley Dillon said in a statement that the American people deserve another chance to consider both candidates before casting their votes.

Dillon also mentioned that Trump should be ready to participate because the debate will follow the same format as their first debate on ABC, which aired on September 10.

“Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to participate in this debate. This is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and claimed to have won in June, when he praised the moderators, the rules, and CNN ratings,” Dillon said.

Trump avoids smoke with Vice President Harris

Trump’s rejection of a second debate at a rally in Wilmington marked another time he has rejected the request.

TSR previously reported that just hours after the first debate on September 10, Harris called for a rematch with the Republican nominee. Trump quickly responded to the challenge, telling ABC that he needed time to consider it.

“Oh, I don’t know, I have to [think] about that, but if you win the debate, I think maybe I shouldn’t do it. Why should I debate again? She immediately said, We want to debate again. That, you know, what happens when you lose, you immediately want to debate again. They want to debate again because they [lost]”, Trump explained.

The politician continued to keep his cool on Truth Social, once again responding to Harris’ request.

“In the world of Boxing or UFC, when a Fighter gets beaten or knocked out, they stand up and scream, ‘I DEMAND A REMATCH, I DEMAND A REMATCH!’ Well, it’s no different with a Debate. She got beaten up badly last night. Every poll said we WON, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?”
