It would still take over 5 years to make each AAA Game for Switch 2.
Spending 5-8 years on a new game is not uncommon these days.

The Switch library wouldn’t be as good as it is without these 10 games ported from the Wii U. The Wii U has helped the Switch library a lot.
Besides Wii U games, there are also many remakes of old games.
Overall, the Switch relies heavily on Wii U ports and remakes, rather than new games.

Zelda BOTW was also a game made for the Wii U, but was delayed a long time so they could use it as a launch title for the Switch.
They even removed the touchscreen feature from the Wii U version so it doesn’t have the advantage over the Switch.
They will probably port more older games to the Switch 2 because it’s an easy way to make money.

I think a new 3D Mario game has been in development for the Switch 2 for years, but they might as well have made a Switch version.
I think the Switch 2 will have 3D Mario when it launches.
