EVA Air Unveils New Hello Kitty Besties Plane

EVA Air has launched a new product Hello Kitty Besties Jet, on inaugural flight BR55 from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). The plane appears to fly that route exclusively, alternating days of the week depending on the season.

Everyone on the inaugural flight received a commemorative gift. As mentioned earlier, when Hello Kitty Besties Jet will operate depending on the season. It will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the summer. Then, during the winter, it will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Hello Kitty elements are present both outside and inside the plane. Since it features her best friends, you can also see characters like My Melody and Kuromi. This new Besties plane marks fourth jet from EVA Air featuring Sanrio characters.

While the collaboration between EVA Air and Sanrio may not seem like it’s anniversary-related, Sanrio did celebrate the 50th anniversary of its cat mascot. On August 29, 2024, Build-a-Bear announced a new 50th anniversary edition of stuffed animals. You can do this at its stores, and it will have iridescent fur. Other items that are part of the celebration include Licca-chan Doll And CASETiFY Cases or other phone products.

EVA Air’s Hello Kitty jet will serve the route between Chicago and Taipei.
