Everything announced at Samsung Unpacked 2025: Galaxy S25 Edge, Ultra, Gemini AI, more
Much like the Unpacked events this past January, Samsung released three new Galaxy S models, with the base models receiving some subtle but meaningful upgrades, including a thinner and lighter design.
Other changes include the introduction of new colors, including Icyblue, Navy, Mint, Silver Shadow, as well as Exclusive colors available only online like Blueblack, Coralred and Pinkgold. The vibrancy of the Coralred color scheme stands out against the more muted finishes of the rest of the range and caught the attention of reporters at Unpacked.

The focus of the device is on newly launched products Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 elite for Galaxy. According to Samsung, this chipset will be significantly different from the variants found on competing Android phones.
For example, Samsung claims it delivers a performance increase of 40% in NPU, 37% in CPU and 30% in GPU compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. In addition to AI, the chipset will help deliver a smoother gaming experience, equipped with Vulkan Engine, high-performance graphics platform and improved Ray Tracing.
Other specifications remain the same as last year’s model, such as 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch displays, 4,000mAh and 4,900mAh batteries, 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate, 50MP main lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens, 10MP telephoto lens and a 12MP selfie camera.

While the camera hardware remains the same, the software upgrade significantly improves the experience. For example, 10-bit HDR recording is now applied by default, allowing users to capture finer detail, and the new Galaxy Virtual Aperture, integrated into the Expert RAW app, gives users control over depth of field. better, similar to when using a DSLR camera.
The Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra also feature advanced AI image processing with ProScaler, which, like Samsung TVs, uses AI to digitally enhance video resolution. Just know that the phone needs to be set to QHD+ resolution to take advantage of this feature.
Prices for the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus start at $799 and $999, respectively. That price is about the same as previous years’ retail price, which is nice considering you get improvements — some in hardware and more in software.
