Marques Houston Explains His ‘Sister, Sister’ Escape in Resurfaced Clip
On Sunday, June 9, The Art of Dialogue took place X, formerly known as Twitter, to share video clips with followers. The clip features footage from April 2023 of Houston appearance on ‘R&B MONEY Podcast.’
“I just feel like I don’t want to grow old and become Roger. Like, I don’t want to be…” the singer explains before being interrupted by fellow singer-songwriter J. Valentine, who chimes in with the word “typecast.”
Houston seemed to agree and added another thought: “Like, Jaleel White was with Urkel.”

From there, the singer explained that while he guest starred in ‘Sister, Sister’, he also joined the R&B boy band Immature.
“I’m two different people – on the street, I’m seductive, I take off my shirt. I’m doing it all [this] on stage, and then here I’m being stupid. I was being professional… and it was like two different personalities,” Houston said. “I said, ‘This guy, he’s ruining Immature.
Houston seemed to explain that his emotions were at their peak when he noticed “Roger has passed Immature.”
“When I started going out and people started saying ‘Go home, Roger,’ I said, ‘I don’t want that,’” he continued.
Ultimately, the singer explained that he felt like he was “over-exposing himself as an entertainer,” which didn’t work for the group. Houston added that he was presented as a “lady” in Immature, and his role as Roger was not like that.
At that point, Valentine asked Houston if he would stay if Roger were a lady, which he confirmed.

I understand what he means by being typecast as the same lovable childhood pest after a certain age, he’s older than Roger but I love his character as the older sister but there’s always Time to move from it to real life

Social media went crazy with reactions
Social media users shared many reactions to Houston’s reappearing words in the Art of Dialogue comments section on X.
Understandable.. the verbosity of the tweet makes it sound dark. But if you listen to him, it’s not shady at all.
