In an upcoming interview with Famitsu Magazine, Fate/Extra Record Director Kazuya Niino talked about improvements in graphical fidelity, hardware performance, as well as structural changes to the original game. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]
In a few excerpts of the interview shared by leaker ryokutya2089, Director Niino said, because the original Fate/More The PSP release didn’t have a ton of content, with the developers being able to add what they felt was missing from the original as well as increase the game’s production values. For example, the Arena sections, where combat and exploration are at the forefront, have been significantly reworked from the original PSP release.
Additionally, with the hardware leap from the PSP to the last and current generation of consoles as well as PC, Type-Moon Studio BB is able to display a larger number of NPCs and characters in the different classes and areas of the game. Niino also said that, with Fate/Extra RecordThe developers did not create a game that required high hardware performance.
Fate/Extra Record is currently in development and will launch in Japan around 2025. Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam. There is currently no confirmation of an overseas release.
