According to EVERYBODYFatman Scoop’s death was caused by cardiovascular disease due to hypertension and atherosclerosis. The agency also confirmed that his death was natural and that authorities suspect no foul play.
The National Institutes of Health explains that hypertensive heart disease occurs due to persistent high blood pressure, which puts stress on the heart. Atherosclerosis involves the buildup of plaque in the artery walls, narrowing the arteries and blocking blood flow.

Fatman Scoop, born Isaac Freeman III, died in Connecticut after collapsing on stage during a performance in Hamden on August 30, according to The Shade Room.
PEOPLE revealed that Scoop collapsed at a concert in Town Center Park on August 30 and was taken to the hospital. Authorities responded to a medical emergency at the venue at 8:33 p.m. local time, according to TMZThe channel also released footage showing several individuals attempting to assist Scoop and pull him off the stage.
On August 31, fans and fellow musicians expressed their warm feelings for the legendary rapper after his death was confirmed through a message on his official Instagram account.
The message reads as follows: “Last night the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon on stage and in real life.
“Fatman Scoop was not only a world-class performer, he was also a father, a brother, an uncle and a friend, He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of encouragement, unshakable strength and courage,” continue notice.
The statement praised Scoop as “the undisputed voice of the club” and noted that his loss would be mourned. It also stressed the need to celebrate “his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched”.
“Fatman Scoop’s legacy is one of love and light, and it will live forever in our hearts and memories,” the message concluded.
