Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Dies at 56, Google CEO Sundar Pichai Shares Post X
Former YouTube CEO and one of Google’s earliest employees, Susan Wojcicki, has died at the age of 56 after a two-year battle with cancer, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said on social media platform X on Saturday.
“I am deeply saddened to have lost my dear friend Susan Wojcicki after two years of battling cancer. She was as central to Google’s history as anyone else, and it’s hard to imagine the world without her,” Pichai wrote in the post.
Wojcicki, one of the most prominent women in tech, is stepping down from YouTube in 2023, a position she held for nine years.
“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Susan Wojcicki. My beloved wife of 26 years and mother of five left us today after a two-year battle with non-small cell lung cancer,” Wojcicki’s husband, Dennis Troper, wrote on Facebook early in the night.
