Genshin Impact Welcomes the Sixth Largest Nation of Teyvat with Version 5.0 Launching August 28 – PlayStation.Blog

Hello, travelers! As Genshin Impact enters its fifth year, we are excited to welcome the sixth largest nation of Teyvat — Natlan, in the upcoming 5.0 version Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn, which will launch on August 28. Known as the Nation of War or the Nation of Pyro, where Saurians have coexisted with humans since ancient times, Natlan and her people are distinguished from other nations not only by their unique tribal traditions and natural environment, but also by their unparalleled agility and mobility blessed by the power of Pyro. Today, we will share some helpful tips to help you explore this new land as a local or in the form of a Saurian!

We would also like to invite all Travelers who have completed Archon Quest Prologue: Act III Song of Dragon and Freedom in Mondstadt to visit Natlan using the unlocked Teleport Waypoint located at the entrance. Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 28 or higher and have completed Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III A New Star Approaches in Liyue can move on to Archon Quests in Natlan without having to complete the prerequisite quests of other countries first.

Becoming a Saurian

The dragons of Natlan are called Saurians, and they are the result of a long evolutionary process of coexisting with humans. Located in the western Hadramaveth Desert in Sumeru, Natlan has a diverse landscape, from canyons and cliffs to flowing streams and hot springs, and even dangerous volcanoes. Version 5.0 will bring the opportunity to meet three of the six local tribes, the Children of Echoes, the Scions of the Canopy, and the People of the Springs, to discover how their members navigate steep and difficult terrain thanks to their respective Saurians.

For reasons that remain unclear, Travelers cannot unlock the power of the Pyro element upon arriving in Natlan, but you will be able to temporarily transform yourself into a Saurian by entering them or their Spiritsconce to roam around throughout the adventure!

The first Saurian you can enter is the Tepetlisaurus. They are loyal companions adopted by the Children of Echoes, a tribe known for their skilled miners and talented dancers within the canyon. Transforming into the Tepetlisaurus allows you to burrow underground and climb cliffs. Entering the Yumkasaurus will allow you to travel quickly through the air, reach high places with ease, and see for yourself why the Scions of the Canopy, who hang from sheer cliffs with ropes, rever these Saurians as extreme sports enthusiasts. If you find yourself near the People of the Springs, a laid-back tribe known for their hot springs, try entering the Koholasarus to soak in the waters, hot springs, and even the Phlogiston flowing through the air.

Use a new resource

In the Pyro Nation, the Pyro element can be found in the form of a unique resource called Phlogiston. Phlogiston comes in many different forms and can be used by the locals as a completely new resource for travel or combat. When you enter the form of a Saurian, you may notice that your skills will consume a separate Phlogiston bar located to the right of your Saurian form. Natlan characters also have a Phlogiston bar that appears above their HP bar. Throughout your journey, you may come across Phlogiston, either as a harvestable resource or as useful tools like Spiritways of Flow Phlogiston, which provide fast routes for Koholasarus and the warriors from the People of the Springs to travel.

Warriors of Natlan can further enhance their abilities through the ancient ritual of Phlogiston Engravings, and thus gain Nightsoul’s Blessing. Glowing patterns will appear on characters affected by Nightsoul’s Blessing, giving them an advantage in combat.

Combine with local warriors

As a War Nation, Natlan has endured countless crises and perils in many battles where both locals and Saurians have fought valiantly. The ancient names of its brave warriors have been passed down from generation to generation to honor their legacy. At the Sacred Flame Stadium, each of the six tribes will nominate a Champion from among the greatest warriors to form their ranks, and we will have the opportunity to recruit three of them from the Children of Echoes, Scions of the Canopy, and People of the Springs. Each of these Champions is distinguished by unique traits and abilities that reflect their tribe.

Our first companion from Natlan is Kachina, a four-star Geo polearm wielder from Children of Echoes. Not only do we meet her early in the journey, but we can also recruit her for free as a reward for completing Act I of Natlan’s Archon Quest. Kachina can summon a Turbo Twirly and ride it to scale walls and cliffs during daily exploration, and unleash ground-pounding attacks that deal massive Geo DMG in combat.

Kinich, known for his hunting skills in Scions of the Canopy, is a five-star Dendro claymore warrior who is proficient with the grappling hook, allowing him to quickly swing through the air and easily reach great heights, or link up with enemies and perform Loop Shots to deal significant damage. Interestingly, Kinich is accompanied by the Almighty Dragonlord, Ajaw, who has the ability to release dragon breath at intervals to deal AoE Dendro DMG when Kinich uses Elemental Burst.

If you’re visiting People of the Springs, Mualani, a watersports equipment store owner and popular local tour guide, is your ideal travel companion. Fond of water sports including swimming, surfing, and beach volleyball, this five-star Hydro Catalyst user can ride her Sharky Surfboard and quickly move across water, liquid Phlogiston, and flat ground. In combat, as Mualani glides on her Sharky Surfboard, she can mark enemies in her path and inflict Sharky’s Bites on them, dealing more Hydro damage after multiple hits.

Natlan’s three playable characters can locate and mark local specialties, benefiting their entire party while interacting with certain harvestable items: Kachina can restore Stamina, Kinich can increase Movement Speed, and Mualani can restore Phlogiston. In the Wishes Event of version 5.0, Mualani and Kachina will debut in the first phase along with a relaunch of Kaedehara Kazuha, and Kinich’s debut will accompany Raiden Shogun in a later phase.

Try Tribal Chronicles

To better reveal the history and heroic stories of each tribe, the Reputation System returns to Natlan through the Tribal Chronicles, a new three-act narrative quest series for each tribe that weaves together traditions, stories, and people, replacing the Story Quests in Natlan. Visit each tribe’s Obsidian Totem Pole to unlock their Tribal Chronicle, as well as their Bounties and Supply Messages. Completing these Tribal Chronicles not only provides a deeper and more in-depth understanding of the customs and cultures of the various tribes, but also earns Tribal Reputation EXP and rewards for the respective tribe.

In addition, World Quests, exciting stories, as well as Archon Quests await you in Natlan with many surprises and rewards. However, we will let Travelers explore all this new content at their own pace. The sacred fire burns with a bright light, and lights up the hearts of the brave! We look forward to seeing you in the game when Genshin Impact version 5.0 launches on August 28!
