Germany accuses Iran of attacking top regions ‘going deeper into the abyss’

At least eight people were killed near Jaffa metro station and several injured in a shooting that Israeli police blamed on terrorists.

Dozens of gunshots rang out in the southern Tel Aviv area, and CCTV footage showed two men wielding automatic rifles shooting a man curled up on the ground. Police said the shooters had been “neutralized”.

The ambulance service said several more people were injured. Air raid sirens triggered by a major ballistic missile attack from Iran sounded minutes after the shooting subsided, with police and emergency services dispersing onlookers into bomb shelters nearby and ambulances raced from the scene with the injured.

Israeli police are also searching a hotel in Herzlia, north of Tel Aviv, after reports of possible shooters in the area.
