GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz Attended Drug-Infused Sex Party With 17-Year-Old Girl: Legal Documents

In June, Republican congressman Matt Gaetz received some unfortunate news as the GOP-controlled ethics committee speak—in a press release!—that they are still investigating the Florida lawmaker, who is the subject of a 2021 Justice Department probe into whether he had sex with a minor and transported her across state lines. The committee is looking specifically into allegations that he “engaged in sexual misconduct and illegal drug use, accepted inappropriate gifts, granted privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had personal relationships, and attempted to obstruct government investigations into his conduct.” And this week, more bad news on that front!

On Friday, NOTUS reported that court documents filed the previous day cited sworn statements from three witnesses who said the congressman attended a drug-fueled sex party in 2017 with “the 17-year-old girl at the center of an alleged sex trafficking scandal.”

The minor girl, who was a high school student at the time, arrived in her mother’s car to attend a party on July 15, 2017, at her home in Florida. Chris Dorworth, a lobbyist and friend of Gaetz, according to court records written by defense attorneys who interviewed witnesses as part of an ongoing civil lawsuit Dorworth filed in 2023…. One witness cited in court records, a young woman known only as KM, provided an affidavit stating that the teenage girl was naked, that partygoers were there to “engage in sexual activities,” and that “alcohol, cocaine, ecstasy… and marijuana” were present. The teenage girl is identified in records only as A.B.

Dorworth told NOTUS in a text message that he had “never met” the 17-year-old girl, “not once in my life.” He also asserted, “She… is lying about Matt Gaetz.”

The House ethics investigation into Gaetz originally began under former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; was later suspended due to a Justice Department investigation. (The congressman has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.) In February 2023, prosecutors announced decided not to charge the Florida lawmaker, and the House reopened the investigation shortly thereafter. Earlier this year, New York Times reported Gaetz’s former ally Joel Greenberg, Who pleaded guilty in 2021 on charges including sex trafficking, has cooperated with an ethics committee investigation. Vanity Fair reached out to Gaetz’s office for comment. The congressman did not appear to comment on the latest revelations.
