Gundam: Silver Phantom Release Date Set
Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the virtual reality series Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom on official Gundam Information The YouTube channel also confirmed the release date. The trailer showcases viewer interaction with the film, reveals mixed reality (MR) action elements, and announces an October 3, 2024 release date.
The film, co-produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks and French VR production company Atlas V, will focus on the mercenary group Argent Kell in the Universal Century story. They are on an assassination mission targeting an Earth Federation official in UC 0096, around the same time as Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. The mysterious silver Gundam piloted by the unnamed protagonist, controlled by the Meta Quest viewer, joins the fight.

The trailer shows how viewers on the Meta Quest headset will be able to interact with the film. Robot In it, Bandai Namco stated that it wanted to make the viewer “become the main character” through the first-person perspective and cockpit movements. It was designed to make it feel as if the viewer would be piloting the Silver Gundam themselves.
Additionally, the trailer shows off two MR features. The first is a smaller interactive shooter where we will control a small Gundam like the RX-78 or Nu Gundam and fight off waves of mobile suits. The second will allow us to get up close and personal with life-sized versions of the Gundams we choose, with the one chosen in the trailer being the Nu Gundam.
This is not the only 3D-CG Mobile Suit Gundam Movie released in 2024. Pray for revenge will also be released in October 2024.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom will be available exclusively on the Meta Quest store on October 3, 2024. People can pre-order it for $15.99.
