How to maximize points and miles on Lyft rides
You hopefully already use one credit card rewards to earn points or miles when paying for Lyft rides. But you can earn even more points or miles on your rides by using one of the many partnerships Lyft has with other loyalty programs. Here’s what you need to know.
Lyft Partners
Lyft has partnerships with the following programs:
The DoorDash partnership gives DashPass members a 5% discount on on-demand trips and 10% off scheduled airport trips with up to four trips per month. Additionally, DashPass members can enjoy two Priority Get upgrades per month. However, as Lyft’s DoorDash partnership does not allow you to earn any additional rewards while riding, we will not discuss this further in this article.
We’ll devote a section of this article to each loyalty program (Alaska Airlines, Bilt, Delta Air Lines, and Hilton) through which you can earn extra points or miles on select trips; We’ll also discuss the Chase and Mastercard partnership near the end of this article.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan and Lyft become partners in November 2022. After linking your Lyft and Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan accounts and selecting “Alaska Mileage Plan” as your travel partner in the Lyft app, you’ll earn 1 mile per dollar spent on US Lyft rides (excluding taxes, tolls, and tips).
Linking your Lyft and Alaska accounts takes just a few taps. Go Collaboration websiteselect “Link your account” and follow the prompts. Once you’ve linked your accounts, make sure Alaska is selected as your travel partner by opening the Lyft app, tapping “Rewards” in the menu, scrolling to the “Travel Rewards” section. , tap “Select Partner” and select “Alaska Mileage Plan.”

Bilt Rewards
Bilt Rewards begins cooperation with Lyft in March 2023. While Bilt is perhaps best known for allowing you to earn rewards while pay rent by credit cardyou can also earn Bilt Rewards points on Lyft rides. Specifically, here’s what you can earn:
- 2 Bilt points per dollar spent on Lyft rides in the US (excluding bikes, scooters, cancellation fees, damage fees, membership products, and Lyft Pass credits not due to Bilt Rewards or Lyft Concierge rides) when you link your Bilt Rewards account to your Lyft account and select Bilt as your travel partner in the Lyft app
- Add 3 Bilt points per dollar spent on rides, bikes, and scooters booked and completed through the Lyft app in the US when you pay with Mastercard® card (see exchange rates and fees)
To link your Bilt and Lyft accounts, open the Bilt app, go to the “Rideshare” tab, select “Link Lyft Account” and follow the prompts. Then, open the Lyft app and make sure “Bilt Rewards” is selected as your travel partner.
Delta SkyMiles
Delta and Lyft began their partnership in 2017. This The partnership will end on April 8but until April 7, you can earn the following after linking your Delta and Lyft accounts and selecting “Delta SkyMiles” as your travel partner in the Lyft app:
- 1 mile per dollar spent on all U.S. trips (excluding tips, gratuities, tolls, taxes, and other incidentals)
- 2 miles per dollar spent on all airport travel in the United States (excluding tips, gratuities, tolls, taxes, and other incidentals)
You can link your Delta and Lyft accounts by visiting their collaboration website. Once there, enter the necessary information and follow the prompts. Typically, you’ll need to confirm your details on the Lyft app or website. And of course, make sure “Delta SkyMiles” is selected as your travel partner.
However, you should choose a new travel partner on April 8 so you can continue to earn rewards on Lyft rides even after the Delta and Lyft partnership ends.

Hilton Title
Hilton and Lyft started their partnership in May 2019. If you link your Hilton Honors and Lyft accounts and select “Hilton Honors” as your travel partner, you will earn the following when taking Lyft rides in the United States United States and Canada:
- 3 points per dollar spent on Lyft, Lyft XL, Lyft Black XL, Lux and Lux Black rides (excluding taxes, fees, tolls and tips)
- 2 points per dollar spent on Lyft shared rides (excluding taxes, fees, tolls, and tips)
However, you can only earn Hilton points on qualifying Lyft spending up to $10,000 per calendar year.
To link your Lyft and Hilton Honors accounts, visit their collaboration websiteClick “Link your account” and follow the prompts. After linking your accounts, log in to your Lyft account and make sure “Hilton Honors” is selected as your travel partner.

Which Lyft travel partner is best?
Deciding whether to choose Alaska Airlines, Bilt, Delta Air Lines, or Hilton as your Lyft travel partner depends on your riding style and how you value the rewards each program offers.
Bilt’s 2 points per dollar is said to be the best. Unlike other Lyft travel partners, Bilt points are transferable, and you earn them based on the total price of your trip (including taxes, tips, and tolls).
However, if you frequently use Lyft in Canada, you’re better off choosing Hilton Honors as your Lyft travel partner because it’s the only one that allows you to earn bonus rewards for rides in Canada.

Best cards for Lyft
In addition to the rewards you can earn through the Lyft travel partners discussed above, you can also earn rewards through the credit card you use to pay for your Lyft purchases.
If Bilt is your affiliated rewards program, you might want to give it a try Mastercard® card to earn 3 more Bilt points per dollar. However, you should also consider other cards that offer additional rewards for ride-hailing services.
For example, select The Chase card earns rewards on Lyft purchases through March 31. Bottom line
Even if you use Lyft infrequently, it’s still a good idea to link your Lyft account to one or more travel partners in your loyalty program. That way, you can earn bonus rewards in addition to your credit card rewards every time you make a qualifying Lyft purchase.
