Hyatt is bringing a new brand to the Maldives
Hyatt Regency’s parent company announced Wednesday that the brand’s first hotel in the Maldives will open in late 2027.
Hyatt has signed a new management agreement with SingHaiyi for the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives, which will be located on the North Male Atoll. The all-villa Hyatt Regency will be Hyatt’s third resort to open in the Maldives, following the highly-anticipated Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa and Alila Kothaifaru Maldives. Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives is probably the more affordable option compared to the two super luxury hotels, Park Hyatt and Alila.
“The Hyatt Regency brand is rooted in a culture of bringing people together and fostering a sense of community. For more than 55 years, the brand has inspired Hyatt guests to seek personal connections and professional collaborations in more than 40 countries around the globe,” David Udell, president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt, said in a statement. “We are excited to partner with SingHaiyi to invite guests to open their minds and hearts to new perspectives and experiences in the Maldives, one of the world’s most desirable vacation destinations.”
Details on prices and World of Hyatt Redemption details have yet to be announced, but the Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be a 25-minute speedboat ride from Male’s Velana International Airport (MLE). The resort’s location on the North Male Atoll is popular for diving and snorkeling; guests can also access popular surf spots like Pasta Point and Sultans.
The 24-acre property will feature 130 oceanfront, treetop and overwater villas, all with private pools. The project, designed by Park + Associates, will draw on Maldivian architecture and a light, natural color palette. A sunset bar, beach club, Japanese specialty restaurant and all-day dining concept will keep guests well-fed.
There is also a kids club, diving centre, gym, yoga deck and spa with eight treatment rooms. Hyatt Globalists and guests staying in villas with club access at Hyatt Regency Samarafushi Maldives will be able to enjoy complimentary refreshments at the resort’s designated Regency Club lounge.
