Unviewed Instagram story highlights feature
Instagram users will soon be able to follow stories even after 24 hours of the story being uploaded by mutual friends. TechCrunch quote A Meta spokesperson said the company is testing a new unwatched stories highlight feature, which includes all the stories users missed seeing from their mutual connections. These unwatched story highlights will be placed at the bottom of the Stories section, and they will be available for about a week after being posted.
“We’re always researching new ways to help people connect in Stories and are testing bringing Recent Highlights to the bottom of the tray with a small group of people,” the spokesperson added. It was also emphasized that Unwatched Stories Highlights will not feature regular Stories that disappear after 24 hours but just a curated highlight from the previous week. Additionally, users will have to go to the bottom of the stories tray to find highlights of unwatched stories. Therefore, you can only access the highlights once you have viewed all the stories and then only display the highlights. So if you have a large list of followers, getting to the bottom of the stories tray can be challenging and time-consuming.
Currently, this feature is being tested internally and is expected to reach global Instagram users once it is fully ready for use. Therefore, we may have to wait a little longer for the new Instagram feature to be officially released.
