Share location on Instagram: Here’s how it works
Instagram, in its blog post, says you can share your live location with friends for up to an hour, or you can pin a location on a map to coordinate your arrival time . This can be especially helpful when you’re in crowded spaces, such as concerts or other gatherings, so you don’t lose track of each other. Instagram says live locations can only be shared privately in DMs, and the feature applies to both one-on-one and group chats.
Once you share your location, only people in the chat can see it. Instagram also ensures many protections are in place, including preventing you from forwarding your location to other chats. If you want, you can also stop sharing your location at any time.

Stickers and usernames to enhance your chats
As mentioned earlier, Instagram DMs are also getting additional features, such as new stickers. Instagram says there are 17 new sticker packs, including over 300 new stickers that you can use to spice up your DMs. Additionally, you can now choose your favorite stickers in your chat.
Another important addition to Instagram DM is the ability to choose nicknames for yourself and your friends. This means you no longer have to just deal with user name inside chats. Nicknames can be a fun addition to group chats and can reflect how you call or know someone in real life. So if you call your friends by a nickname, this can now be replicated in Instagram DMs. Instagram says that you can choose nicknames for yourself and your friends, but these nicknames won’t be reflected anywhere outside of the chat. And after choosing your nickname, you’re free to change them at any time.
