Is Diablo IV any good now?
Blizzard Entertainment made a lot of changes and gambles when releasing Diablo IV. Some of these have paid off, like the large, beautiful, interconnected world that players can explore together seamlessly. Others have fallen short, especially with the release of Season 1 and other content. So I can understand if you’re confused if Diablo IV is it good now
I had a rather strange situation while playing Diablo IV. I was there right at launch, but I wasn’t covering it or a fan as knowledgeable as others, so I only played a little bit. As it is, I got a few good hours of playtime with it, but it wasn’t enough to keep me interested in other games coming out.
Back recently and I dug much deeper into Diablo IV to see how it goes now. Also, I’m preparing some things for the upcoming Ship of Hate expansion. I feel like Blizzard has listened to the fans and made solid improvements and changes in recent seasons to appeal to more players.
For example, it’s much easier to experiment with different builds. Like any online game, there’s a meta to the experience and it’s always changing. One season, there might be a specific Rogue build that everyone is using while the next season it might be a Sorcerer. Experimenting with different builds for classes is much easier now than it used to be.
What you can do now is salvage any augmentations you really like and it will be added to the permanent Codex for you to use whenever you want. You can then take it and use it in another build or leave it there for the future. This change, among other things, respects the time and effort of players, and rewards them for it.
I’m not sure why aspects were consumable in the first place, but that’s no longer the case. Also, you can now upgrade legendary aspects when you find a better version, which adds another layer. Then there are the other quality of life improvements like horses sprinting in town, smoother crafting, better Helltides content, etc. Damn, it’s nice to now be able to pick up items with a larger radius.
Perhaps most importantly, now is the time. Diablo IV of The first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. While I can’t comment on how good the expansion will be before launch, a new class and all the other changes are exciting enough. There’s no doubt that the game is quite different than it was before Season 1 and even at the launch of Season 1.
In fact, I would go so far as to say that this is the time to check Diablo IV first time or, like me, again. The game is smoother and more welcoming to newcomers. And for veteran players, many of the frustrations are no longer an issue. Not to mention, there’s a lot to look forward to with New Spiritborn class and much more new content. So to answer the general question, I think Diablo IV It’s fine now. In fact, I think it’s significantly better than the release.
Diablo IV Now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Computer. Vessel of Hatred will be released on October 8, 2024.
