On Instagram, Puddin shared poignant words about the career milestone, saying the record deal meant “huge” to her.

“Listen, I’ve been an outsider my whole life. I’ve never been in a cool crowd. I’ve been in pain before but it forced me to move on my own, but be strong. It was just me, the mic, my voice, my pen and God. I kicked, screamed, begged and pleaded to sing what I wanted. 3 years ago, after getting sick and almost losing my life trying to be accepted by the culture. I said f**k it! If I’m not invited to the party, I’m going to throw it myself and that’s what I did.”

She explained that she moved back to Tennessee because she believed she deserved “to do what [she’s] great in that.”

“It’s bigger than me. I represent the weird kids, the misunderstood kids, the kids who have nothing, the kids who are ignored, women and men from all walks of life. I am the underdog. Thank you @bbrmusicgroup @bmg for partnering with me and understanding my vision. Out of every label, I KNEW IMMEDIATELY where I was going. I look forward to being on stage everywhere showcasing the music I grew up with. It’s a long, hard road ahead, but I’m equipped for ANYTHING. Ford Tough.”

Her caption also appeared to allude to the name of her debut project in the country. She wrote, “This is what they call ‘The Making of an Outlaw’.”
