Katt Williams claims he turned Steph Curry into the best shooter in the NBA

Chileeeee! If “credit where credit is due” had a face, it certainly would be it Katt Williams. The comedian kicked off 2024 with some viral comments and now he’s ending it the same way, claiming that he’s basically the reason Steph curry Become the best shooter in the NBA.

Does Katt Williams get credit for Steph Curry’s hoops skills?

Katt Williams has been cut off from social media again after a video from a podcast at Vulture Festival 2024 in November resurfaced. In the clip, Katt claims he was the one who told Steph Curry to start shooting deep 3-pointers before entering the NBA.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t claim that. That’s not part of doing it. It’s doing what it is and leaving it as it is. But I am responsible for the greatest shooter in the NBA without question!” Katt said in the podcast interview.

The ‘Friday After Next’ star posted a 30-second story at Vulture Fest to back up his claim. Katt said he met Steph Curry before the NBA when he hired him to work on a celebrity basketball game to benefit children and family services in Los Angeles. He explained that he invited Curry to join the team and even gave him 5 thousand dollars to play. At the time, no one knew who Curry was, but when he stepped on the court, he started shooting from anywhere behind half-court all the way to the 3-point line.

“The next year, the next game he scored 50 points.’I’m right man, you’re over here making $5k for a celebrity basketball game, but you’re one of those guys. Greatest shooter that ever existed. Do you understand that if you take your game to the NBA, they either have to change something or you will become the greatest shooter that ever lived,” Katt continued.

Katt went on to say that he told Curry that if he could shoot before defenders could react, he would be “the greatest shooter who ever lived.”

“Now I’m not saying he took that advice and kept doing it but he took my advice and kept doing it,” Williams joked.

As of now, Steph has not said anything about Katt’s decision regarding his career.
