At the end of each year, Famitsu conducts short interviews with a variety of Japanese developers about their ambitions and aspirations for the coming year. One such developer is Koji Igarashi of ArtPlay, the man behind many Castlevania games and franchises that inherit the spirit, stained with blood. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

It’s perhaps a little surprising to see that Igarashi has one goal foremost in his mind: releasing his next game. Great success Bloodstain: Ritual of the Night finally ended its active development in 2024, five years after its initial release. All additional content and modes have been deployed and support promises have been largely fulfilled. If there was ever a time to know what will happen and when, it is now.

To that end, Igarashi said that his goal is to release a new game by 2025. ArtPlay has announced a sequel to the game. stained with blood was developed in June 2021, but since then there has been little information about it. Since leaving Konami in 2014, Igarashi has mainly worked from home stained with blood game franchise. It seems likely that his next title is the aforementioned sequel, but time will tell on that.
