A young girl named Krystel Romero is dead and another girl is said to be seriously injured after a subway surfing incident in New York City.

More details about the tragic subway surfing incident

According to New York Post OfficeThe incident happened at around 11pm on Sunday, October 27. The two girls were reportedly surfing on top of the southbound 7 train when they fell between the train cars. The pair were then allegedly run over. Furthermore, the incident is said to have occurred at the 111th Street station in Corona, Queens.

According to EVERYBODYAn NYPD spokesperson shared that Romero is 13 years old while the second girl is 12 years old.

Last week, a 13-year-old boy named Aldofo Sorzano is said to have lost his life while surfing at Forest Avenue station. Additionally, in September, an 11-year-old child died while surfing the G train in Brooklyn.

According to New York Post OfficeRomero was pronounced dead at the scene of the Corona incident. Additionally, a second teenager was said to have been taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

The newspaper reported that sources said she had suffered a “skull fracture and bleeding on the brain” and was “unable to breathe on her own.”

According to New York Post Officea source shared that Romero’s mother is “really shocked” and “still can’t believe it.”

“Krystel’s mother told her not to do anything like this,” the friend, identified only as “Had,” explained. “I don’t know what made her make this decision. Kids today are doing all these things for social media. Maybe it’s bad influence from friends. Maybe it was a bet. Krystel is even afraid of taking the train. She never wanted to go everywhere by subway so we always took a taxi.”

Another tragic death recently made headlines in New York City

Unfortunately, the fatal subway surfing incident is not the only tragedy to affect New York City in recent weeks. EQUAL Shade room previously reported, on October 12, an elderly woman was reportedly beheaded after reportedly jumping from the 28th floor of the Park Regis Apartments on the Upper East Side.

Furthermore, witnesses were said to have been present during the incident.
