Since her podcast launched and started back and forth at the top of the rankings with Joe Rogan’s experienceKelce has drawn the ire of conservatives, not only by surpassing Rogan in the ratings but also by saying in a recent interview that she “Left-leaning” political views. In the new episode, Kelce said, “Who the hell is Kylie Kelce?” has emerged as a consistent top search on social media.
“I can’t get over the fact that you actually typed this into Twitter when you could have typed it into Google,” she said. “And you also entered my name, so now you know what you’re going to get: More content about Kylie Kelce.”
Kelce expressed bewilderment at the lack of understanding about the Internet and how the attention economy works. Interaction, whether positive or negative, is still interaction in the digital eyes of the Internet.
“A while ago, I was talking to my producers about questions like ‘Do we like a segment about the algorithm and explaining to people that if you engage with that content? and if you write my name and shit, you’ll keep understanding me.’ on your timeline?’”
Another thing that Kelce said “has surprised me” is the criticism of her podcast as “amateurish.”
“I said that about myself [podcast],” she said and laughed.
Kelce, who is married to the former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce and is the sister-in-law of the current Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelcelaunched her weekly podcast in December.
